I’ve been traveling all over the country with my husband to rodeos for years, and one of the most fun parts of going with him, aside from cheering him on and being his number 1 fan, is getting the chance to dress up. See, when we aren’t at rodeos, we are at home on our ranch in small town Oregon. Honestly, the cows don’t care how I look, as long as they get fed. So anytime we hit the rodeo trail, you know I’m taking full advantage of the chance to dust off my turquoise and get dressed up! We’re headed to RodeoHouston so I’m going to share my outfit planning tips and tricks. Let’s get started!
The western industry has been our home for over 50 years. Since the inception of Cavender’s, we’ve prided ourselves in outfitting America with the best in western fashion while providing unmatched customer service. Throughout our success, we’ve been grateful enough to be honored by some of the most distinguished brands, organizations and partners. And for that we are incredibly humbled.
Last week, we had the privilege of adding another accolade to our story, an induction into the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame. In front of a crowd of over 200 family members, vendors, friends and many long-time employees, some of which have been with us from the beginning, Joe, Mike and Clay, alongside their mother, Pat and sister Traci accepted this great honor on behalf of their late father James.
“It’s just not us, standing here, being inducted into the Cowboy Hall of Fame tonight, it’s our associates, our long-term employees, our vendors, it’s all of y’all. And we’d just like to say thank you.” – Clay Cavender
Guests were welcomed by Pam Minick, Mistress of Ceremonies with Red Steagall providing the Invocation to kick off the evening at Billy Bob’s Texas in the heart of the Fort Worth Stockyards. After hearing from all the great 2019 inductees, Robert Earl Keen closed out the evening with a short acoustic set for guests to enjoy.
Other members of the 2019 Texas Hall of Fame induction class included Dr. Glenn Blodgett, Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo, King Ranch, and Robert Earl Keen.

Some may call me biased, but I’m willing to go out on a limb and say that the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo is the greatest time of year. When it’s stock show time in Cowtown, we pull out all the stops.

Two different backgrounds. Two different personalities. One brotherly bond.
Many young cowboys come from families that are deeply rooted in rodeo and traditions of the western lifestyle. But for Kaden Mantooth and Johnny Horn, their true passion for rodeo began at Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch.
December is synonymous with the holiday season. But before decking the halls and spreading Christmas cheer, thousands of rodeo fans from across the world flocked to Las Vegas for the most wonderful time of the year, the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo. And this year Cavender’s headed west to be part of the historic festivities.
As we head into the winter months, it’s time to pull out the cozy sweaters, felt hats and a touch of sparkle for those holiday parties and family photos. We’ve put together some of our favorite looks and gifts of the season, perfect for any occasion. Continue Reading…
